TEAMS

Our program offers very many after school extra curriculars. 

Drill Team

Commander - Levi Stephens 

The Drill Team’s mission is to encourage our cadets to have the confidence to step up for competitions, and have the poise and skill to enter society as an excellent  citizen. At David Crockett, the majority of our Drill Team members are in our third period class. In the typical school week, we practice drill on Thursdays. We also host drill and colorguard practice after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.​

Academic 

Commander- Dagan Carver

Navy Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps(NJROTC) Academics team focus on developing stronger minds through studying the required knowledge for inspections and advancement test. The Academic teams' competitions consist of JLAB, Brain Brawls, and Nationals in Florida     

PT Team

Commander- William Anders 

Navy Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NJROTC) Physical Training (PT) teams focus on developing physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership skills among cadets. NJROTC PT often includes various activities such as running, calisthenics, strength training, obstacle course challenges, and competitive sports. Cadets typically participate in regular physical training sessions, which may be structured to prepare for competitions, such as The BULLDOG . The program emphasizes the importance of fitness in overall health and as a foundational aspect of military readiness. 

Honor Guard 

Rifle Team

Commander- Cheyanne Ramsey  

In rifle we practice 3 positions in air rifle. Standing, kneeling, and prone. in standing we stand sideways shoulder length apart. For kneeling we have a mat we put our foot over the roll and kneel. And lastly for prone we lay on our stomach. we shoot a 3 by 10 we shoot 10 shots in all 3 positions. we also shoot a 3 by 20 that's where we shoot 20 shots in all 3 positions.   

Orienteering team 

Commander- Jackson Mears

 Orienteering is an activity that emphasizes navigation, map reading, and teamwork, often as part of physical training or leadership development exercises. It combines military-style skills with problem-solving and physical endurance, making it an excellent challenge for JROTC cadets.

Drone team

Color guard 

Commander - Dagan Carver 

Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corporation(NJROTC) Color Guard focuses on the ceremonial presentation of the Navy flag and the American flag. These ceremonies take place at home football games, veterans' day events, and drill competitions. The Color Guard mostly consist of four people, two rifles and the Navy and American flag.
